Day 1 — Smyrna, Pergamon & Thyatir

Your Seven Churches journey begins with a morning departure from your hotel in Kuşadası, İzmir or Selçuk.

We travel north toward Smyrna, the ancient name of modern İzmir and one of the seven churches addressed in the Book of Revelation.

Depending on the opening hours and your preferred itinerary, we visit the Ancient Agora of Smyrna and discuss the history of the early Christian community in the city.

We continue to Pergamon, one of the most impressive ancient cities of Asia Minor.

Here you explore the spectacular Pergamon Acropolis, with its monumental remains and dramatic hillside setting. The ancient city was an important political, cultural and religious center and is one of the most fascinating stops on the Seven Churches route.

After Pergamon, continue to Thyatira, modern-day Akhisar.

Although relatively little of ancient Thyatira remains visible today, the city played an important role in the early Christian world and is one of the seven churches mentioned in Revelation.

Overnight: Salihli / Sardis area or similar.

Day 2 — Sardis, Philadelphia & Pamukkale

After breakfast, continue to Sardis, once the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Lydia.

Explore the remains of this important ancient city, including the impressive Temple of Artemis, Roman-era structures and the ancient synagogue.

Sardis was one of the seven churches addressed in Revelation and offers a fascinating combination of biblical, Roman and Lydian history.

Continue east to Philadelphia, modern-day Alaşehir.

Discover the remains associated with ancient Philadelphia and learn about the early Christian community that received the message recorded in Revelation.

In the afternoon, continue toward the Pamukkale area.

Overnight: Pamukkale / Denizli area.

Day 3 — Laodicea & Ephesus

After breakfast, visit Laodicea, one of the most important archaeological sites associated with the Seven Churches.

Walk through the ancient city and discover its monumental streets, theaters, churches and other Roman-era remains.

Laodicea is particularly famous for the message addressed to its Christian community in Revelation and provides an important connection between biblical history and the prosperous cities of ancient Asia Minor.

After Laodicea, travel west toward Ephesus.

Explore the magnificent Ancient City of Ephesus, one of the best-preserved classical cities in the Mediterranean and one of the most important centers of early Christianity.

Depending on your interests and available time, the visit can also include the Basilica of St. John.

After the tour, we drive back to your chosen drop-off location in Kuşadası, Selçuk or İzmir.
